When Linda and Ray were looking for a four-bedroom family house in the Kent countryside, none of them offered both an old ambience and minimal upkeep - until this one. The great oak door swings open into a dark atmospheric hall, whose oak staircase and leaded windows give the impression of an ancient dwelling. Though the house oozes history, it is structurally sound and serves as the perfect cosy backdrop for the family's Christmas decorations.
