Idyllic house on a dyke in Zuid, Holland

Martine Vianen and Wilfred Geerlof needed plenty of space but wanted to keep the house cosy. The kitchen was the biggest challenge. At the advice of their interior architect they abandoned the idea of having an island and opted for a design that created room for the dining table. The kitchen is where the family spends the most time -- so they devoted most of their ideas and resources to making it perfect.
