Renovated country home in Lage Mierde, North Brabant

The long commute to their previous home inspired John Biesheuvel and Arnold Otten to buy an 18th century farmhouse in an idyllic setting close to work. Architect Wim de Vos helped transform the dark building by replacing wooden beams with steel girders, replacing the back wall with glass and raising the ceilings. The rooms, in subtle hues, are filled with an eclectic mix of designer furniture and antiques.
